These antique absinthe sugar dishes were used solely to hold sugar pieces (or cubes) to be used in preparing a tradiontional French or Swiss absinthe. These dishes would have been found sitting on bistro tables or on top of the bar in restaurants and bistros thoughout France in the Belle Epoque. These serving pieces all predate 1915.
