This silver-plated coupe dripper is a single server and used in preparing a historically correct, traditional absinthe. This coupe is designed to take the place of an absinthe spoon.
To use, set the brouilleur (mixer in French) on top of an absinthe glass, then place your sugar inside. Cold water is then poured slowly, either by a carafe or an absinthe fountain, into the coupe. With three small holes in the bottom of the coupe, the sugar water slowly drips into the glass of absinthe and begins to louche (the process when then water reacts with the anise from the absinthe and the mixture turns cloudy or white. The air also begins to become fragrant with the smell of anise, fennel and grand wormwood. Add more water or sugar to taste. Remove and enjoy!
