THIS TABLE FEATURES A NUMBER OF FISSURES IN THE MARBLE TOP. A FISSURE CAN SOMETIMES BE MISCONSTRUED AS A CRACK, BUT OCCUR NATURALLY IN STONE AND ARE NOT CONSIDERED FLAWS OR DEFECTS. THEY CAN BE SHORT OR LONG IN NATURE, AND ARE AN OPENING IN THE FACE OF THE MARBLE WHICH BECOME FILLED WITH MINERALS.
THESE DEFECTS IN THE MARBLE DO NOT AFFECT THE MARBLE'S INTEGRITY (SEE PHOTOS). WE HAVE DONE OUR BEST TO DESCRIBE ALL FLAWS WITH THE TABLE.
Bistro tables like these were made famous in Paris during France's Belle Époque. These same tables are found on the streets of France and other parts of Europe. Construction consists of solid, white Italian marble, a traditional seamless brass band, and a cast-iron stem and base. All table construction has been faithfully reproduced, including the undercarriage of the table, which features a 3 heavy duty steel prong that connects the tabletop to the base.
The seamless brass band has been tarnished to give the table an antiqued appearance.
The table is suitable for use indoors or out. If used outside, additional tarnishing may occur to the brass band. An overhang is suggested to help protect the table from the elements.
