Lucid Absinthe Supérieure (124 proof / 62% ABV) is made in the 180-year-old Combier Distillery located in Saumur, France. Lucid is credited with being the first genuine absinthe (made with real Grande Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium)) to be legally available in the United States in over 95 years. The recipe was developed by distiller T.A. “Ted” Breaux. Breaux, a New Orleans, Louisiana native, is considered one of the very best absinthe distillers in the world, producing his famous Jade’s (Jade Liqueurs).

The fountain shown in this video is our Empire Absinthe Fountain, with 4 Spouts and is available here. The absinthe glass is our Cordon Absinthe Glass and can be found here.

    Initial Absinthe Experience

Posted by Dave C. on Jan 22nd 2019

My wife and I were curious about Absinthe. After reading and researching this product, we decided sample Absinthe in the traditional way. We purchased a bottle of Maison Absinthe, a fountain, special spoons and glasses to make this an experience. The aroma out of the bottle was similar to licorice. The louche or cloudiness happens slowly as cold water dripped onto the sugar cubes and into the Absinthe. The bouquet emanating from the mixture in the glasses enhanced our experience. We mixed about 1.5 oz of Maison Absinthe with 3-5 oz of cold water. Even using a sugar cube, the taste was slightly bitter, a little heady, with a licorice-like finish. The taste stays on the tongue between samplings. It is quite unique compared to other liquors. It is 124 proof, definitely NOT a liqueur. Sampling Maison Absinthe made us feel warm and happy. Thank you for a great initial Absinthe experience.

    I'll buy this again!

Thank you so much for this lovely product! For many years, I've had the desire to try Absinthe & now I can say that I have & it's lovely! I prepared it as recommended & had two helpings. I didn't have a euphoric epiphany or anything (nor did I expect to), but I did have a nice warm feeling (you could call it a "buzz"). Upon opening the bottle, I immediately smelled the sweet licorice aroma. The, for a lack of better terminology, bouquet permeated the air & made the experience that much more enjoyable. Thank you Maison Absinthe for a wonderful product!
