I was in Paris in the early ’90’s and Absinthe was still spoken in hushed tones. Or I did not know the ’right places’ to go. Now it seems to be in the ’wild’ . I was surprised to see it's availability on the web and not even the Dark Web. I read a few articles about preparation and consumption. I tried the bottle of LUCID, searching for the right combination of Absinth/water and sugar. I'm glad I bought the spoon and sugar cubes. The spoon is a must. My very first taste was, well, surprising. Quite different in all ways from any other liquor including Scotch. I overdid the sugar using two sugar cubes. Way too sweet. Next time I figured out my requirements for this elixir. One sugar and about 20 ml of h2o to 30ml of the Absinth. It's strong but that's what I was looking for. I love this brand although I did not hallucinate the dreamy, gauzy females I had hoped for. It's worth the try, and the experience.
